MILWAUKIE, Ore., December 17, 2025 – The Pacific Northwest is well known for precipitation, and after a bountiful pear harvest this fall, the region is making a national name for its “pearcipitation.” In early December, USA Pears launched a fresh campaign to bring one of the world’s most underrated fruits to the forefront, timed to coincide with both the New York Produce Show and World Pear Day. Featuring a colorful array of pear varietals, the campaign brought together animated digital billboards, bus displays, influencer partnerships and social content to inspire fresh pear consumption.
“Pears have been flying under the radar in recent years, but this wholesome and nutritious fruit deserves to shine, so we decided to take it to one of the world’s biggest stages: New York City,” said CarrieAnn Arias, president and CEO of USA Pears. “With a fresh, fun campaign, we reintroduced the city to a fabulous homegrown fruit that is ready to add flavor, fiber and versatility to the table at the upcoming holidays and all year long.”
From Dec. 1 through Dec. 6, recognized as World Pear Day, vibrant pears rained down animated digital billboards in Times Square and West 52 Street and Broadway, and they appeared on bus displays shuttling conference goers through Manhattan. The ads, when combined, are estimated to have been in front of foot traffic approaching 4.8 million people.
Partnerships with five selected digital influencers further amplified the variety, versatility and nutritional benefits of this Northwest-grown fruit, while USA Pears’ presence at the New York Produce Show and Conference, Dec. 2-4, provided attendees with ample opportunities to sample the range of textures and tastes cultivated by dedicated growers.
“Our grower families, as well as our packer and distributor partners, take real pride in providing consumers with a fresh fruit that can contribute to a healthy lifestyle in so many applications,” continued Arias. “Always juicy and flavorful as a fresh snack, pears can also be incorporated into everything from smoothies and salads to sandwiches, entrees and desserts.”
USA Pears distributes 10 varieties of pears throughout the year, and its producers in Oregon and Washington provide about 88% of the fresh pears sold in the U.S. Favorable growing conditions in the region during the most recent season produced a sizeable harvest of highquality fruit this fall, providing consumers with ample opportunity to tap wellness benefits. For instance, snacking on a medium pear provides 6 grams of dietary fiber or 21% of the recommended Daily Value, making pears an exceptional choice for fibermaxxing. Pears are also a source of vitamin C (8%) and potassium (4%), and they have a high-water content, which makes them naturally hydrating and refreshing.
USA Pears’ multifaceted campaign comes on the heels of a brand and website refresh, which is piquing interest and getting consumers excited about all the possibilities with pears.
