The World’s Most Interesting Fruit?
If You Know, You Know.

Choosing is Half the Fun
First things first. When it comes to pears, pretty doesn’t always mean perfect.
Whether the sun adds a few freckles or the cool evening breezes cause a few scratches, these conditions contribute to our pears reaching sweet perfection.
A little firmness goes a long way
Pears are picked before they soften, so start with ones that feel firm but not rock-hard. Your pear will ripen naturally and deliciously.
Take it easy on them
Pears can be delicate! Handle with care and they will ripen into a sweet, versatile and unique eating experience.

Sweet or SAUCY?
Choose YOUR Favorite Ripeness
A pear’s flavor journey happens over time!
Tart & Crunchy
At first, a pear is at its crunchiest when the neck near the stem is firm. They have a tart crispness perfect for a quick snack or in a salad or on a cheese board.
Sweet & Juicy
After a few days on the on the counter or in a fruit bowl at room temperature, the neck will start to give to gentle pressure. The pear will become sweeter and much juicier! This is the peak pear experience. Refrigerate to slow the ripening process and maintain this state to give a little more time to enjoy.
A little... Saucy!
A couple days longer and the pear is ready to blend. Sweetness without adding sugar. You win!

Storing: Table to Fridge to...
Beautiful on the Counter
When you bring your pears home, keep them on the counter or in a fruit bowl until they’re just the way you like them.
Off to the Refrigerator
When they feel softer and juicier, pop them in the fridge to slow things down. They’ll stay fresh for a few extra days, so you can enjoy your pears at their peak.
Think They’re Over Ripe?
THINK AGAIN!
They’re still perfect to purée and freeze for smoothies, baby food and sauces.
